Hello to everyone today! March, 13 is believed to be one of the most favorite spring non-official holidays. This date is officially recognized as the National Jewel Day worldwide.  What does it mean, you ask? This is a perfect day for jewelry – both receiving and giving. What could be better that a cute ring or a cuff, a beautiful necklace or earrings? Jewelry does not need to be expensive, artistic or too stylish, but it would be a good symbolical present in order to mark this special bizarre holiday and to indulge in your charming Russian bride for jewelry souvenir.

Well, as you know, it’s National Jewel Day today. This date is rapidly gaining favor as an annual holiday that celebrates ornaments, jewels and valuables of all shapes and colors. Who does not like jewels? They seem to glow, filling everything around with the mysterious light of certain stars glittering in the sky. Jewels could be family heirloom, they are impressive and priceless. For example, one of the most famous jewels in the world, Marie Antoinette’s necklace, had an estimated price of $3.7 million. Pliny said that, ‘there is in them a softer fire than the ruby, there is the brilliant purple of the amethyst, and the sea green of the emerald – all shining together in incredible union.  Some by their splendor rival the colors of the painters, others the flame of burning sulfur or of fire quickened by oil.’ Incredible is just the word for it. People have been wearing different jewels for centuries, studied their birthstones or used jewels as the amulets. Jewels have been used to serve as status treasured items, as the signs of political or religious power. And, of course, ladies adore jewels! One can even say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend and a man’s worst enemy.

So, actually, there are some things in the life that are far more valuable than different jewels, but, on the other hand, jewels aren’t bad themselves either! So remembering your Russian lady with a small even virtual jewel could be a good idea. Impress your sweetheart and she would be definitely surprised with a small special gift!
