We have a proverb here: if you want to imagine your new wife in many years, look at her Mom. Your wife will become the same. It is, of course, not a rule. But very often it is a true story.
There are few things, you can learn in the family of your future wife. And it will help you to see the real inner side of the family, you are going to enter.

Let’s say you are having a dinner. Look up.. whom does your Mom-in-law gives the first plate ? Her husband? Daughter? It says a lot about relations in the family.

In Ukrainian tradtitional family the rules are quite clear: the Man is a Head of the family and his wife gives him the best things. She serves the plate for a dinner FIRST for her husband, and only then – for children. Maybe it could seem to be a bit old-fashioned. But it is a sign of respect to her Husband. There is a kind of Cult of a Man. He is a head of the family, he is a bread-winner, he earns money to manage things at home. And His word is the main in problems solving. He protects his family if it needs and he supports his wife and children in their goals.

It is a traditional way, the family lives. Of course, now-a-days there are many exception from rules. But all, even most modern girls are looking for the strong shoulder, for the male, who would protect them and go through the life hand-in-hand.
