TOUR GUIDE. What to See in Lviv (Part1)

Lviv has been meeting guests from different parts of the country and from abroad for many years. It seems that in the city of Leo everything breathes with history. Streets and houses keep the memory of what happened centuries ago.

1. Rynok Square

It is located in the center, in the old part of the city. Therefore, there is something to see, because the local houses still remember the events of the past centuries. The first mention of the central city square dates back to the 13th century. For many centuries it has been the center of city life. Here people organized cultural events, processions, and sold vegetables, fruits and flowers on the market, which were grown by local residents.

2. City Hall

To look at the central part of the city from the tower of the City Hall is the responsibility of every tourist. Lviv’s City Hall is the highest in Ukraine, its height is 65 meters. Therefore, the city is well-seen from it. By the way, the building is an architectural monument and is protected not only by Ukraine, but also by UNESCO. Also tourists can see the city clock in the City Hall. This mechanism has been working for several centuries and tells people the exact time.

3.Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater

Tourists often make the first photo in Lviv on the background of the Opera Theater. This building has an excellent interior and a majestic exterior. By the way, not only the hall for spectators amazes, but also the lobby, foyer. The walls of the building are decorated with stucco, painting. Therefore, you can come here not only to the premiere of a sensational performance, but also simply to admire the theater as a continuous work of art.

4. Italian courtyard

A cozy place in the heart of the city of Leo. Here you can relax after the bustling streets filled with tourists. Back in the 16th century when the yard was being built, the owners tried to equip it so that this corner became a resting place. Also they wanted to create a building, similar to cozy houses of inhabitants of Italy.

5. Potocki Palace

A beautiful building in the style of classicism was built in the 19th century. The palace impresses with beauty. The exquisite decoration was preserved inside: stucco molding, gilding, marble. The guests of the Potocki Palace are especially impressed by the Mirror Hall (dance hall). Here often solemn events, concerts and artistic presentations are held.
