Father’s Day

Mother’s Day is in past, now dads have their turn and it’s time to think of them! Sunday, June 16, is an occasion to honor dads and fatherhood. It’s a golden opportunity to focus on fathers, brothers, grandfathers, fathers-in-law, great-grandfathers and other male relatives and to spend some time with them. Millions of people marks Father’s Day to do justice to their dads and the role of fathers in society at all.

As Father’s Day is a relatively modern holiday, it is celebrated all over the world. Richard Nixon declared the third Sunday in June an official holiday. But in regard with this day the most known name is Sonora Smart Dodd, who did justice to her own father William in such a way. He was a sergeant, Civil War veteran and raised, after her mother’s death, six children. This was a great deed at that time for a widower, so Sonora Dodd held him in great esteem. She suggested William’s birthday, June 5, as an honor’s day of fatherhood to the Ministerial Alliance. Instead of it, the chosen date was the third day in June, and so became Father’s Day as an equivalent to Mother’s Day for male parents.

Any dad would appreciate cute and useful gifts for this holiday. There are some gift ideas for those who remember Father’s Day is just around the corner. The most either popular or common Father’s Day gift is the necktie. Pathetic, killingly funny, casual, novelty or kitschy ones – your father would appreciate and enjoy any lovely gesture. Buy it, knit it, embroider it, stitch or ever bake it! Because what man doesn’t like to eat? Delicious tie cookies or cute candy necklaces in cellophane tie baggy would be a great cook gesture for sweet junkies. Grilled steaks, baguettes, buffalo chicken lollies, grilled corn salsa – or just ask your daddy to lunch! Because the quickest way to every man’s heart is through his stomach, all Russian ladies know that and are a super cooks! Is your dad a workaholic? Present him a useful gadget that every dad can get excited about. You should know better whether it would be a mouse for Apple-fan dads, grill tool or knife-sharpener for kitchen-geeky dads or GPS-kit for travel-fan dads. To make a craft gift, as a scrap card in clean-and-simple style, a photo collage or a bookmark is also a great gift idea. Try to do something that your dad would enjoy – mind your phone and congratulate him or ever visit. Your tender loving care is in either event the best gift!
