Swallow’s Nest (Lastochkino gnezdo in Russian), a Seaside Castle in Crimea

A majestic and elegant castle, called an icon of Crimean peninsula, built in the Neo-Gothic is one of the most popular Crimean tourist attractions, a true tourists’ Mecca. It is located near Yalta. Swallow’s Nest was built by Leonid Sherwood, the Russian architect, in 1911, and was used as a restaurant, but after a serious earthquake in 1927, a cliff became cracked. Fortunately, the castle was damaged very little. But for next 40 years it was closed to visitors. Now the mountain restaurant works and you can enjoy the view of Crimea coastline and taste Italian and European dishes at the same time.

Castle in Kamyanets-Podilsky

Kamyanets-Podilsky, also called “Pearl-on-the-stone”, is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine and is well known for its medieval architecture, including the cathedrals, the building of City Hall and the ancient castle.  The complex (a castle itself with twelve towers, among them Pope’s Tower, White tower, Daily Tower, Water Tower, Black Tower, Great or New Western Tower and others, fortification walls and the castle bridge) is a candidate UNESCO World Heritage Site. Old charming ruins, excellent landscape panorama, powerful walls and towers – what else could you ask for a romantic getaway with a gorgeous Russian lady?

Sofiyivka Park

Dubbed the most beautiful park complex in Ukraine, Sofiyivka Park is the perfect place to have a romantic weekend, to make a declaration of your love for a charming Ukrainian bride or even to propose a marriage. It is annually visited by nearly 500 000 tourists and many wedding proposals to pretty Ukrainian ladies sound here, in place built as a gift of loving man. The Polish Count Stanislaw Potocki built it and threw at feet of his beloved woman called Sofia. The park is named from her name. Small Switzerland with cypresses and pine trees, Flora Pavilion and its exotic flowers, the Geneva lake with swans like the Cinderella fantasy film are no doubt worthy of special attention. C’mon, haven’t you seen the Cinderella?

Shoenborn palace in the Carpathians

Tourists are welcome: the entrance is free of charge. An ancient hunting palace of Counts Schoenborn is elegant, majestic and noble. The castle is built in the style of Romanticism and is a manifestation of an original Romanticism idea of eternal time: the number of funnels is equal to 52 – as the number of weeks in a year, there are 365 windows in the castle, and 12 entrances (corresponding with the number of days and months in a year). The palace is currently used as a SPA center.

The Tunnel of Love

The Tunnel of Love, located in the north-western Ukraine, resemble something out of a fairytale. It looks like an Elven valley in Middle-earth, a medieval faerie land, a mysterious wood of Neverland. This tree tunnel with a railway is considered to be the most romantic place in whole country. It’s easy to be seduced by the beauty of this Tunnel of Love and it is no doubt the perfect place to explore with the one you love.  Summer and winter alike, this tunnel is equally romantic and bteathtaking.
