If you would like to know better either your gorgeous Ukrainian lady or the culture and traditions of her native country, actually, there is nothing better than to come up with foods. It’s the cornerstone of the culture, the very primal stuff of the human understanding. You are what you eat, you know it. So, for achieving the set task, first ask yourself, what Ukraine traditional foods do you know? And if there should be not an unqualified answer, well, it could probably be useful to inform.

The Ukrainian cuisine has a long and rich history. It is closely linked to the way of life of the Ukrainian people. In fact, people usually take only the best natural ingredients for their foods. It concerns every country, of course. But Ukrainian people have one of the best natural conditions in the world for these purposes. Ukrainian cuisine is so delicious because of unique soil conditions, fresh air and the hardworking hands of cooks. It is believed that restaurants, cafes and fast foods don’t offer the true Ukrainian cuisine (or you should ask if the cuisine is prepared at home). Not a word but truth, that local delicious Ukrainian foods are best cooked at home. All secrets are quite simple. Planning to taste the various cuisine masterpieces? While your trip, try to visit the local families and houses. You’ll be impressed with the results. You’ll be stunned at the diversity of the proposed foods, but one thing will be consistent. The taste, no the TASTE of the deepest and the most genuine sense of the word, and that is the truth.

Borsch
The most popular Ukrainian dish is borsch. This traditional soup made out of beet root and up to 20-25 other ingredients such as mushrooms, beans, beans, carrot, pepper, cabbage and even fried fish (I know it’s a little hard to get used to, but…). It is also believed that no Ukrainian girl will be able to get married, if she does not know how to prepare borsch. This saying is exceedingly vague, considering that every Ukraine family has its own recipes and traditions of borsch, but it’s just saying.

Varenyky (dumplings)
This dish is mentioned even in local folk songs and ballads. It is a kind of stuffed dumpling, filled with meat, cottage cheese, potatoes or sauerkraut, cabbage and mushrooms. The sweet version of varenyky is usually served with Smetana (sour cream), jam and honey, and it is filled with blue-berries, raspberries or cherries.

Salo (fatback)
It is neither bacon no lard. Salo is the traditional Ukraine product; it is best known and associated with the true symbol of Ukrainian culture and way of life. It is usually salted and flavored using salt, garlic and black pepper. It may be cured or smoked, and you should know that there is even an annual championship of salo lovers, “With Love … to Salo”. Folk songs, some local anecdotes, jokes are the part of this cult of salo.
Well, you should know that the list of delicious cuisine is much, much longer. Ukrainian brides can and are fond of cooking. Try the local foods and impress it – it’s really worth it.
