Now then, let’s speak about love or, more specifically, about its graphic representation. Have you ever carved in your desk or on a park tree the name of your first beloved girl with a pocket knife? Or your initials together and phrases about eternal love till death? Do you remember this desk? This tree?

Today is October, 15th, and thirteen years ago, the idea of such “love inscriptions” was conceptually realized in the form of wall. This monument is called “I Love You Wall” and symbolically is located at Montmartre, Paris, being a city of love. It covers about 40 square meters and is composed of 612 tiles of enameled lava. The form of the tiles is associated with the sheets of paper which Baron used to write the phrases. The bright color splashes are symbols too. As Baron says, “The bursts of color on the fresco represent the pieces of a broken heart, the heart of a humanity so often torn apart and which the wall tries to gather together”.

The words “I Love You” are written there over 1000 times in more than 310 different languages, including all languages of the United Nations. The idea of creating such mural love monument came to Frederic Baron, an artist. He collected the “I love you” phrase in his notebook by asking his neighbors, then the staff of different embassies. When his collection generously sized, he asked Claire Kito, an oriental calligrapher, to assemble the script. So the words “Daï-sou-ki”, “Ti amo”, “Ich liebe dich”, “Je t’aime” mean the same “I love you” became a love-inspired monument.

No matter where you live, there should be no frontiers and walls between peace and love. Walls separate people from one another, so the “I Love You” Wall is aimed at reminding that the sincerest infinite love could overcome walls and barriers. Tell your charming Russian lady these words and find a right way to her heart just now!
