National Sacher Torte Day

Hello everyone and a question for you at first! Have you ever heard about Sacher Torte? Have you ever dreamt trying this chocolate delight? So here it comes! Sweet Sacher Torte, a legendary cake of almost aristocratic origin, celebrates its day. The 5th of December is the true holiday for people with a sweet tooth. A thin coating of delicious chocolate that melts in your mouth, two dark-chocolate cakes layered with a tempting apricot jam – that’s all Sacher Torte, that served with some unsweetened whipped cream on the snow-white dessert plate. It seems that you are in a paradise of gourmet.

This probably most famous dessert cake in the world is considered to be created by Franz Sacher, an Austrian confectioner, in 1832. Sacher was only sixteen at that moment. As many other famous inventions, Sacher Torte has its own gripping tale of origin. This dessert has been appeared because of Prince Wenzel von Metternich, an Austria’s minister of foreign affairs. He organized a reception of high-ranking guests and gave orders on a special dessert for them. The formal reception was of crucial importance, so von Metternich was believed to say famous words “Let there be no shame on me tonight!”  But unfortunately the chief cook has fallen ill, so Franz Sacher, a trainee of only 16 years old, made bold to cook a dessert for the reception at his own risk. The result impressed the whole party and was absolutely tremendous! Sacher Torte immediately became new gourmet trend, and now is considered to be one of the most famous Austrian dessert specialties, the Viennese culinary pride!

Eduard Sacher, Franz’s son, opened the Hotel Sacher in 1876, where Sacher Torte is yet considered to be the signature product of Sacher brand. Eduard developed his father’s recipe of sweet dessert with a properly-kept secret of creating, and today you can taste the world-famous aristocratic cake even without visiting Vienna – the Sacher can deliver the Sacher Torte everywhere! Russian ladies consider this delight a sure sign of deep feelings, so it could be a perfect sweet gift for your sweetheart on Christmas as well. Buy this confectionery masterpiece for your beloved lady, for your family members or true friends and share its divine refinement.
