International Puzzle Day

Hello to everyone here! Well, today is January 29th, and the world marks International Puzzle Day today. Quite bizarre, isn’t it? Puzzles have their own day! A cute game which, however, should not be considered as for children only. In fact, puzzles are believed to be a favorite pastime of lots of people, for all ages. There are lots of puzzle kinds, and people of the whole world are big puzzle fans, no matter whether they are smart American programmers or beautiful Russian ladies. They are intended to use for every skill level, either for puzzle beginners and puzzle gurus. Puzzle is a constant challenge to them. It’s not so obvious that the puzzle has a solution, but a little thought convinces us that it does.

Why are people crazy puzzle fans? What do we mean by “crazy”? What is the biggest puzzle you ever made? 800 pieces? 2,000 pieces? You see, there are people who encountered the world’s largest puzzles like ‘Skylines of the World’ or ‘Tropical Impressions’. Can you imagine that the whole number of such puzzle is 24,000 pieces? The holy truth! (But, just fancy, a lost piece may go) And, what’s more – there are some people who came out these puzzle winners. They really did it perfectly. They have ever their own puzzle strategies, the definite sequences of actions and so on. The view of such puzzle made is pretty impressive. According to the words of one of the world’s largest puzzle winners, such puzzle-making takes for a half of a year – on the condition you spend approximately 4 hours a day to make.

So, why do people like it? It’s quite simple – a lot of reasons at once. Puzzles are best for fun – you need only time and wish to make. You may not have special skills for it. Puzzles are considered to be a universal time-killer. It challenges people’s mind, it encounters, and it makes you to think logically. So the best way to celebrate this Puzzle Day is to solve a puzzle. You may start with an easy example – and who knows? Perhaps, you can quickly slip into such intellectual game.
