Doctor’s Day

There are so many different professions nowadays, but everyone will agree that one of the most important ones are the social ones, like teachers or doctors, and we will talk about the holiday dedicated to the last ones. People of this profession have special attitude in society, they are highly appreciated, as they save life and make them easier. Unfortunately, in Slavic countries they are not much praised by high salaries, so people who still decide to choose to become a medic are almost real heroes.

It is really great to have a medic at home. You may look for a lady on Step2Love who has this profession. Just go to Search and write “Doctor” or “Medic” into the line “Key words” – and you will see ladies who are willing to help people.

So, as there are lots of those who are ready to devote their life to others, it is obvious that there are holidays dedicating their work, and around the world there are different dates for this event. For example, in the USA there is National Doctor’s Day, and it is celebrated on the 30th of March. The holiday was established on on October 30, 1990 by the president George Bush, and it is celebrated since 1991.

The Eastern country Iran celebrates the birthday of Avicenna, who practically was the founder of all doctors. The holiday is held on the 23rd of August, and it is called The Day of Physicians.

In Ukraine there is no fixed date for this event. It is celebrated on the third Sunday of June since 1994, so it has to be counted each time. On the other hand, this is quite convenient, as doctors have the possibility to celebrate it the way they want being not clinked to work, as it always happens on Sundays.

In other countries, like India, Cuba or Vietnam, these holidays commemorate well-known medics who did a lot for that region and really deserved to be remembered, so it is more dedicated to their date of birth rather than to all doctors in general.

There are no official celebrations around the world on all these dates. Doctors just gather together and make something themselves, locally.  So if your lady is a medic by profession, is a great opportunity for you to please her, congratulate and present some gift to show that you appreciate what she is doing in her life.
