This summer on 10th of July the sixth Odessa international film festival will take place on the south cost of Ukraine. It will last up to 18th of July. Odessa is a remarkable historical and cultural center of Ukraine. Also it’s said to be a major recreational area of the country. Outstanding history of the city is safekeeping by its old guards and can be find in a huge number of historical and cultural monuments and architecture. One is supposed to see the most famous sights of Odessa like Opera house, Dumskaya square, the central railway-station and Potemkin stairs which have several secrets to puzzle a foreign guest.

So it’s obvious now why film fest is held exactly in Odessa! As it’s a city that you will surely fall in love with from the first glance.

The idea of the film festival

On the international film competition there will be presented full-length films all over the world , so even most fanciful and demanding spectator will have joy of it. The festival selection of movies is mainly looking for ‘art-mainstream’ films which are both of high artistic level and still easy to understand for wide audience.

Ukrainian films

The film competition also includes the newest films of Ukrainian production of that ones made in cooperation with Ukraine. There also held a Ukrainian National Award for the Best Ukrainian Film.

From the February of 2015 Odessa international film festival pass is available to purchase. It is valid up to the end of the festival (from 10 till 18 of July 2015). This personal pass will allow one to attend all the screenings in the morning and day-time up to 6 p.m. For attending evening screenings of films included in festival program and that one which are out of is one is need to buy tickets. All the movies are presented by their directors, actors and other members of the crew. The cost of personal pass is 745 UAH.

The official films screening will be held at the Festival Palace and RODINA Festival Center. Also there will be held some special free open-air screening Potemkin Stairs and Langeron Stairs.
