If you want to impress woman, show her your knowledge about wine!

In past, a gentleman could not ignore such important characteristics as a place where has grown grapes, the temperature of wines and the order of its serving to the table. He certainly had its own wine cellar and strictly cared about every bottle. Nowadays you don’t need to know all this information. But if you want to impress your lady (because this drink necessarily appears on dating), read some rules about wine.

Firstly you have to choose wine. So, follow the simple rules of selection of wines in the store.

1) The choice of wine depends on what you are going to eat. If you need to choose a wine for supper, follow a few simple rules of combinations of drinks and food.

The most important thing to remember: light wines are served for a light meal – fish, chicken in white sauce; meat dishes and dishes which are flavored with tomato sauce, require stronger wines.

For spicy dishes, sweet wines will be perfect, such as Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Grigio. As an appetizer, you can propose Pinot Noir and Cabernet.

The dry red wine is a wine with low sugar content (red Chianti, Berber etc.). It is the best for serving with the main dishes.

The dry white wine. It’s better to serve it in the afternoon to the meat or seafood. It can be tasted with the fish, chickens, brain, brownies or sweet breads, seafood delicacies.

Sweet red wines are served in between meals and dessert. Like an example it can be primarily port (which is well served with nuts and cheese), sweet sherry (which is so often overlooked), nutmeg and Madeira.

The sweet white wines are Malaga, semi-dry champagne, white Portuguese port and US dessert wine from California.

2)Read a name of the manufacturer. On the front side of the label of quality wines must be indicated the names of manufacturer.

3)Crop year. The marking of good wines contains a year of grape harvest. If this information is not available, the more likely you buy a diluted concentrate or another achievement of modern chemistry.

4) Packaging and cork. I advise you to buy only bottled and cask wine. The packaged wine, at best, is suitable for cooking, but not for drinking. If the manufacturer economizes on packaging, it is a certaily the sign of poor quality.

When you choose the wine, pay special attention to the cork. It should not leak or be dried up. Modern wine corks are made of wood and plastic.The first step after opening the bottle, smell the cork. If you feel a musty smell, don’t drink this wine, it is spoiled.

5)The price of wine. In this situation, miracles do not happen, the quality products can not be cheap.

Let’s talk about correct process of serving wine.

Of course you can serve the wine without special knowledge. Simply bring a bottle and put it on the table. But the correct serving of wine makes the whole process into an exciting performance.

1. Pretreatment. If you plan to serve the young wine, then for 1-2 days before the dinner you need to stand it in a vertical position. A bottle of old wine is usually put on a special standing at an angle of 30-40 degrees. You have to do it that the sediment from the wine remains in the bottle.

The most important aspect is the temperature of the wine.According to the temperature, the flavor of it can be changed. It is recommended to be guided by the following values:

Dry white, rose wines – 7-10°C;

High-quality white and liqueur wines – 9-12°C;

Young red wines – 13-15°C;

Old red wine with a complex structure – 15-17°C.

The wine glasses and proper table setting play the very important role. Put the glasses for wine behind the cutlery on the right.
