Generally speaking, smell is a pleasant or unpleasant sensation that detects different kinds of odors. Smell has a really strong influence on the emotions, feelings, affects our daily lives. Moreover smell can lower stress, anger, raise attraction, wake you up with the smell of freshly baked bread and make to sleep with some good smells of flowers early in the morning. Our sense of smell isn’t so extraordinary nose for something like dogs have but we can feel.

There are some different ways smell can affect memory, love, spending(some things that we buy), dreams and stress. The most important and useful part of smell is memory. We can not recall the faces of each other after a long time but we can remember the smell and odor of this man. For example, you have a relationship with your boyfriend during the whole year and one day you decide to part with him forever but you still have some things, gifts, presents and you can not only touch it but feel and smell. Obviously, there’s no guarantee that a smell can keep safe over time, but it gives you all pictures of those times which we had so long ago.

The love plays much more important role in the theory and practice of smells. You can know more better an unknown person if you know his/her smell. When you meet a love or half of heart, firstly you remember not only the face, voice or habits, but also the odors because they are important and can give you the best remembrance into your mind. You can feel and smell your clothes after the meeting with him during the long time. It’s more better than photos or other different things.

The next one are spendings in our daily lives. To put it more exactly, it’s included all things what we buy which have some special smells. For example, old or new books, notebooks, journals, newspapers. Something that we can feel and smell. It also can be the scented or aromatized soup, candles, perfume, some creams. Some of us like specific and usual smells like smoke, paint, acetone, benzine. So, it depends on you what you like or dislike.

The scientists say that if you will smell the flowers before sleep you can have more positive and bright dreams. The Sleep Disorders Centre of the University of Heidelberg examined some women who smelt the current kind of flower before go to sleep and not. This research shows that those women who smelt this flower had more pleasant dreams than those who no smell. Also, they prove that some of them who didn’t smell had more negative and unkindly dreams. Nowadays they are looking for definite kinds of flower which can lead to good, pleasant and positive dreams and escape the nightmares.

Smell can also effect on stress or irritability of us. There are some odors which people are really dislike or hate at all. For example, gasoline, dirty kittens, barf, sweat, cigarette/cigar smoke, diapers, fresh milk. It’s not the whole list of smells that irritates us, of course it depends of your preferences.
